Quick update on Harrow v2 — the blood-trail detection range has been extended by ~15% in indoor environments. Testing found that in tight corridor geometry (Bridgepoint tenements) the old range was too forgiving. He should feel like something you genuinely cannot outwit easily.
Also: the sub-frequency cue timing is final. 20 seconds. Not 25, not 15. 20s.

20 seconds sounds generous until I remember I'm in a panic trying to figure out if there's even a hiding spot nearby. Good call. The 25s felt exploitable in early playtests from what I've read.

The blood trail mechanic is SO smart. Just bandaging doesn't help unless you cleaned the floor too right?? Will we be able to see our own blood on the ground?

@raven_ashvale Yes — decals are visible to both you and Harrow. Bandaging stops the trail from extending further. Pre-existing decals persist until they dry — indoor about 12 in-game minutes, outdoor longer (exposed to weather). You can't clean them, but you can move through them on the way to a hiding spot and the trail ends at your last bleeding position, not where you stopped.

This level of system depth is making me nervous in the best way. The Grey Night mechanic combined with Harrow + blood trails sounds genuinely threatening. How does weather affect the outdoor decay exactly?

Anyone else mapping out Gallows Row on paper lol. The district design post had me going. Three different levels of vertical traversal in a market district sounds chaotic in a great way

I keep coming back to the psychological state system. Playing a character who is not a trained fighter but learns to survive through trauma is something I've never seen done seriously in a game. Most grief mechanics are UI elements. This sounds like it's embedded in movement and aim.

@aura_dev That's exactly it. The T&A system runs underneath everything. You don't manage it. You live with what it does to her. If you play recklessly for two hours she moves differently. Not worse — differently. The system doesn't punish, it responds.
@Mossfall — rain accelerates outdoor decal decay. Heavy rain will wash a fresh trail in about 3 minutes. Fog (The Maw) doesn't wash decals but reduces Harrow's visual detection range to partially compensate.

Ground Rules

Community Standards

Rule 01

BE SPECIFIC

"This doesn't work" is not feedback. "The Harrow detection radius feels too wide in indoor spaces because X" is feedback. Specificity improves the game.

Rule 02

NO SPOILERS

When trailers and story content are released, mark spoilers clearly. Not everyone will encounter content at the same time.

Rule 03

NOT CS

Development is not customer service. Demanding features or timelines achieves nothing. Explaining why something matters to you does.

Rule 04

NO UNSOLICITED PORTFOLIOS

There is a Careers page. Community channels are for community. Use the right channel.

Rule 05

STAY ON TOPIC

The community exists around Blood & Silence and Netrigo Game Studios. Keep discussions relevant to the work.

Rule 06

BASIC DECENCY

This should not need explaining. If it does, you are in the wrong place.
